Environment Vessel #4: Plastic
Environment Vessel #4: Plastic
copper, enamel, silver
5 x 8 x 8
2021

Another piece in my Environment Series, 'Environment Vessel #4: Plastic', comments on our inexhaustible use of organic polymers in everything from hospital ventilators to water bottles. It can be a miracle material or an environmental disaster. Plastic recycling is a dream come true, if it actually happens. This vessel is spun from copper, enameled over silver foil with cast silver lid. It is 5 inches tall by 8 inches in diameter. The haiku etched around the rim reads:

We throw it away,
Only it never goes far.
There is only here.
