Bryce Canyon Vessel #1
Bryce Canyon Vessel #1
copper, enamel, silver
9 x 7 x 7
2017

Bryce Canyon Vessel #1 is the first piece created in response to a visit to Utah's Bryce Canyon National Park in 2016. The canyon walls are created through a combination of limoge (painted) enamel and ceramic decals. Around the silver rim is a side-blotched lizard and a haiku which reads:

As I fade away,
The wind wears down the sandstone.
Together we merge.
