Environment Vessel #6: Paradise Lost
Environment Vessel #6: Paradise Lost
copper, enamel, gold-plated silver, simulated coral

2021

This vessel is titled Paradise Lost. I want to give credit to Albert Bierstadt for his 1868 painting Among the Sierra Nevada, California. My vessel is 10 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter. It is created out of copper, enamel, silver foil, gold-plated sterling and simulated coral. The haiku etched around the rim reads:

Each one is precious,
But collectively a threat
Earth can not sustain.
