Shenandoah Vessels
Shenandoah Vessel #3
copper, enamel, silver
7 x 5.5 x 5.5
2021

Shenandoah Vessel #3 is the third and, for now, the last artwork inspired by my Artist Residency at Shenandoah National Park in September 2020. This piece is constructed of copper, enamel and silver. The imagery is from photographs I took along the trails in the park, converted to decals and fired on the enameled surface. There is also a cloisonné leaf-pattern below the rim. The vessel is 7 inches tall by 5.5 inches wide. The haiku etched around the silver rim reads:

Silence around me,
An acorn falls from a tree,
There is nothing else.
