Extinction Vessel #3: Failing Symmetry
Extinction Vessel #3: Failing Symmetry
copper, enamel, silver
5 x 3.5 x 3.5
2019

This is number three in my Extinction Series: Extinction Vessel #3: Failing Symmetry. Tigers are the subject and although only the Javan Tiger has gone completely extinct to date, all tigers are endangered, and none may still be around in the next fifty years. Although I have never seen a tiger in the wild, I did see fresh tracks in the dirt along the road at the Sariska National Park in Rajasthan, India in 2001. This vessel is 5 inches tall by 3.5 inches in diameter, made of copper, enamel and silver. The haiku along the rim reads:

Failing symmetry.
Tiger, tiger burning out,
God is not to blame.
