The Dove Vessels are enameled with a feather pattern in the colors of the mourning dove. The outlines of the feathers are fine silver cloisonné wires separating transparent enamel over silver foil. Across the lid is a mourning dove feather cut from silver & then fired with coats of enamel that is then etched to achieve a matte surface.

Harlan Butt has created several shapes for the Dove Vessel series. Each piece is hand-made by the artist & has its own distinctive features.
